DESCRIPTION: Hughes & Son Ltd., London, 6.5 inch sextant, pierced metal frame with gray finish, signed brass arc with inset silvered scale, the graduations from -5 to 130, micrometer drum adjustment, index lamp, multiple shades for horizon and index mirrors, sighting scopes, and plastic handle with battery compartment, all in finger-jointed mahogany box with a certificate from the Admiralty Compass Observatory dated 1955.
CONDITION: Box has a large crack in the lid and inset plaque is missing. The Sextant is in very good condition with only one empty spot in the fitted case. Serial number 50167 with the broad arrow indicating it was the property of the British government. Dimensions are for closed wooden box.
